12 Days of Christmas – Day 12 part 1

This morning every child who is currently in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Great North Children’s Hospital will wake up to one of our Christmas boxes…

Filled with comfort items (the polar bear toy is sooooooo soft!), sensory toys, books, a blanket, some little treats and lots of love. We hope the boxes can bring a little joy and normality to the children on what is a very difficult day to be very poorly and in hospital.

As those of us spending the day at home get up to see if Santa has been, open our presents, eat our special breakfast and look forward to lunch with all the family…poorly children and their families in hospital are getting up to face another day of treatment, medicines, physiotherapy and uncertainty… we hope that all the love us at Team Evie and all you our supporters are sending them can make a difference for them today.

We want to wish all the families spending Christmas in hospital today a peaceful day, one which will bring hope and fingers crossed a little distraction from all that they are currently facing.
