We were absolutely thrilled to donate the trolley from this year’s Christmas Book Appeal to the staff and children on Ward 9 at the RVI…

This year we made things even more special by turning up with a story teller, Steve! It was so lovely to see the reaction from the children to Steve’s stories, and it was great to hear from the staff how much of a difference the library will make to the ward!

This is now our 6th book trolley donated to children in hospital – what an incredible impact. Reading to children in hospital is proven to:

• Aid recovery of the children when they hear a familiar voice
• Strengthen family bonds as they read together
• Encourage all member of the family to be involved during hospital visits
• Create a sense of normality in a strange situation/surroundings

We are so proud of the impact of the book appeal, now in its third year – and it’s success is all down to you, our wonderful supporters! Thank you so much for getting behind the appeal each year and sponsoring books, it is you that makes the incredible difference to the children and their families! We sold out of books in record time this year, and we are already excited for next years appeal!!
