Workers at a Sellafield-based contracting firm and partnership have raised around £6,000 for a West Cumbrian charity.

Altrad, formerly known as Hertel, and the team from i3 Decommissioning Partners – Altrad, Shepley Engineers and Wood – chose Team Evie as their charity of the year.

The organisations set a 12-month period of fundraising from July 1 2018 to June 30 this year for the charity, which supports ill children in hospital and home and their families.

A spokesman for Altrad and i3 Decommissioning Partners said: “It is a fantastic charity. Everyone got behind the fundraising campaign. Although our official fundraising year is over, we will continue to support Team Evie and the great work they do.”

The money raised by Altrad and i3 Decommissioning Partners will help Team Evie continue to fund medical equipment and provide trainings and be there for bereaved parents.
