Phone Chargers for the Children’s Intensive Care Ward at the RVI

When we thought about how we could help families who find themselves in hospital one situation always stuck in our mind… Early one morning last year we arrived at PICU, the same as every morning to go to Evie’s side, and a family had been rushed in with their son in an emergency through night (something which was a common occurrence). As soon as we walked through the door she asked in desperation if we had a phone charger – her phone had ran out of power and she could not get in touch with her family to tell them what had happened….

So we delivered a box packed full of every type and brand of phone charger known to man!!! It will be kept on the ward with a poster to notify families it exists in the family room. So the situation we witnessed won’t ever happen again.  Problem solved.
